Paral Ko Aago is a 1978 Nepali black-and-white film directed by Pratap Subba and produced by Cineroma. It is based on a story of the same name by the Nepali writer Guru Prasad Mainali.The actors of the movie were Tanka Sharma, Susmita Dhakal, Basundhara Bhusal, I.K. Singh and Menuka Pradhan.


 The director Pratap Subba was also the scriptwriter. The music director Shanti Thatal became the first female music director in Nepali films The film was shot in areas around Kalimpong and Darjeeling, India in 1976. Released in 1978, the black-and-white movie proved to be a great success due to its story and melodious music .The lyrics of the songs were written Manbahadur Mukhiya and Indra Thapaliya and the songs were sung by Aruna Lama, Dawa Gyalmo, Pema Lama, Shankar Gurung and Deepa Gahatraj.Biswa Hingmang was the lead male dancer in the song “Chowbandi ko Tunama”. It was his first appearance in Nepali film. The dance was choreographed by Deodutt Thatal, a renowned dance director of Nepali cinema. In the dance group, the lead female dancers were Shanti Chhetri, Purnima Khargdha, Shanta Gurung and Sobha Chhetri. The dance was shot near Rangeet Khola at Singhla, Darjeeling.Nepali origin Bollywood actress Mala Sinha played the lead role in Maitighar along with Chidambar Prasad Lohani, whom she later married. It had special appearances of Sunil Dutt and comedian Rajendra Nath. The other actors were Yadav Kharel, Tika Bhushan Dahal, Yam Bahadur Khadka, Sunita Regmi, Yadu Kumari, Pratibha Sam, Jana Darshan Sam, Gopi Krishna, K.B. Lamichhane, Keshab Rana, B.S. Thapa and Sohan. Nanda Kishore Timilsina’s role was crucial in the making of Maitighar. Dr. Yogendra Jha and General Nara Shumshere were its producers whereas B. S. Thapa was the director.Maitighar was the first film to be produced under a private banner in Nepal. It had many Indians contributing towards the making of the film - actors, musicians and technicians. The place where the film shooting took place in Kathmandu, Nepal has been named Maitighar after the movie.The music was scored by Jaidev, a veteran music maestro. Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosle, Usha Mangeshkar, Manna Dey and Geeta Dutt did the playback singing, along with Nepali singers Prem Dhoj Pradhan, C.P. Lohani and Aruna Lama. Lata Mangeshkar sang a Nepali song that was penned by the late King Mahendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev of Nepal.
